Our Story

Bihar is indeed a remarkable state that has produced exceptional leaders and famous personalities like Aryabhata, Ashoka, Anugrah Narayan Sinha, Rajendra Prasad, Jayaprakash Narayan, Bismillah Khan and many more.

But over a period various challenges faced by the state and on top of it its low literacy rate stemming from limited access to quality education, slowed down the state's development. In recent years various efforts have indeed been taken by the state government in transforming the education system and streamlining the educational support provided for the students. But it was not the same 40+ years back.

Mr. Augustine Jebakumar who came to Bihar in 1972 analyzed the situation and understood the need for quality education in the state’s development. There were several occasions when the local people requested Mr. Jebakumar to start a school for their community. But it was after the divine confirmation from God he took the bold step of starting an English medium school at Dehri-on-sone in 1983.

Inspired by the commitment, discipline, and dedication of Mr. Jebakumar and his team in rendering service to the community, Ms. Aloo Bhattacharya, the principal of Rama Rani school generously donated 5 acres of land in Sikaria village and which allowed the GEMS to start an English medium school in Sikaria at 1983.

The school today stands tall as one of the top ICSE school in the entire state giving birth to several more schools and widely recognized and appreciated by the officials and local community.

As the school continued to progress, numerous teachers from the southern states of India selflessly volunteered to relocate to Bihar and educate the children. By 2023, the school had reached its peak enrollment of approximately 3000+.
